Agency teams need to get closer to the business. Shadow people. Sit in the tension. Learn the hard constraints. In-house teams need the opposite: time in agency spaces where agility still lives. Formal exchanges. Project-based blends. Anything that creates two-way respect.

Don’t leave that understanding to chance. Build systems that rotate creatives across roles or embed them in shared teams. When both sides learn each other’s reality, the best work happens.

If we want brands that last beyond the campaign, we need people who’ve lived on both sides. And we need systems that make that learning the norm. Authenticity isn’t an accident. It’s what happens when creativity and accountability meet from every angle.
